Offered is a pocket advertising mirror for Angelus Marshmallows. In 1874, the Rueckheim brothers purchased candy-making equipment from a Dutch confectioner who was returning to Holland. They eventually developed Cracker Jacks. Cracker Jack was not the company’s only product. Angelus Marshmallows were introduced in 1907 and were the company’s second-most popular product. Rueckheim’s company introduced the Angelus Marshmallow to capitalize on consumer demand for what, at the time, was a novel product. Angelus Marshmallows were promoted with the tag line: “Fluffy and Light as a Feather.” Angelus Marshmallows had cookbooks and a mystery book with puzzles and recipes. This mirror states “A Message of Purity”.
